Puppy Returned To Shelter For Fifth Time Begs Visitors To Adopt Him For Good
When the staff at Valley Animal Center first welcomed Judy, a young Chihuahua puppy, they were hopeful he would find a home soon. While he was full of typical puppy energy, Judy’s adorable face and warm demeanor made him an ideal adoption candidate.
It wasn’t long before a new family applied to adopt Judy, and the staff happily waved goodbye to the sweet pup as he left for his new home. But a few weeks later, Judy’s family returned the puppy to the shelter, claiming he was hyperactive.
The staff were heartbroken for Judy but didn’t give up. They welcomed him back to the shelter with open arms and posted another adoption ad. Soon, a second family showed interest in adopting Judy and quickly arrived to pick him up.
The staff waved goodbye to Judy again, hoping this would be his perfect match. But they were shocked when Judy’s new family abandoned him weeks later and returned him to the shelter, claiming he didn’t do well with children.
Jody was sad and confused by the change. He just wanted a family to love, but no one seemed to love him. Still, he waited, and his friends at the shelter assured him that the right family would come along.
“It’s not his fault! Jody is a sweet boy who loves to run and play in the big yard. He’s still the perfect age to learn and thrive with a little training,” VAC wrote on Facebook.
After his second return, a few other families showed interest in Jody. His third chance at love soon came, and he happily went home to a promising family. Then his family discovered they had to move and couldn’t take Jody with them — so he sadly returned to the shelter for a third time.
Despite their love for Jody, the VAC staff were determined to find him a stable home once and for all. Their hopes were raised when a new couple arrived and adopted Jody for a fourth time, only to be crushed when the puppy returned a few weeks later.
At the end of last year, a fifth family stepped in to adopt Jody. They hugged the sweet pup as they walked out the door, and the staff were sure to wave goodbye one last time. Sadly, Jody returned to the shelter for the fifth time a few weeks ago, and has been there ever since.
“Jody’s journey has been tough,” VAC wrote on Facebook. “He’s very active, wasn’t good with kids, his owners moved, his owners didn’t have time, and his new owners moved again. Despite it all, he’s still searching for his forever home.”
Jody is still at VAC today, and they’re anxiously awaiting his happy ending. The staff knows that Jody’s perfect family is out there — one that will be patient and understanding with him — and they hope to find one soon.
Until then, Jody will remain at VAC, hoping that someone will adopt him forever someday.
“Can you be the one to give him the love he so deserves?” VAC wrote.
