His Mom Can't Walk To The Store, So He Goes For Her

It’s a Sunday morning in Antioquia, Colombia, and Doña Graciela is writing out her weekly shopping list. She just needs a few things from the local market, but she can’t make it there herself. Luckily, she has a loyal puppy who is eager to run her errands.

She fastens the strap of her saddle bag around her pup, a black pitbull mix, and then opens the pocket where she usually keeps her list.

“I wrote down what he needs to get me, and I put the money here,” Doña Graciela said on Instagram. “Now he’s heading to the store, and he’ll get what I need.”

With his shopping list and the money in his backpack, Doña Graciela’s dog walks out the front door and trots down their village street, his tail wagging. He knows which market he’s going to, but even if he has doubts, the shopkeepers are always there to wave him in with open arms.

When he arrives, the sweet pup sits at the counter and lets the workers retrieve the list from his bag.

“Here he is at the store,” Sejasrivera said. “And now they are taking care of him. How nice.”

After taking the list, the shopkeepers leave the puppy for a moment to retrieve the items from the back. Despite seemingly being left alone, the well-mannered dog does not budge.

“Look how he waits patiently for them to take care of him,” Sejasrivera said.

A few moments later, the shopkeepers return with a small bag of items, which they tie to his bag. They take the money from his pocket before taking him back home.

Once again, the cute puppy runs happily down the street back home, eager to show his mother what he has picked up.

“Here he is with his things,” Sejasrivera said.

Seconds later, the puppy returns to Doña Graciela’s living room, a big smile on his face. He sits patiently while his mother unpacks the bag from his backpack, then enjoys a delicious meal for his hard work.

Life as a senior citizen is full of ups and downs, but fortunately, Dona Graciela never has to worry about completing her tasks. As long as her sweet puppy is around, she will always have someone loving and trustworthy to help her.

“He even returns coins!” said Dona Graciela.
