When Texas animal control officers discovered him wandering the streets in poor health, they quickly called the shelter. The dog had a cut on his face and bite marks, and he looked disturbed.
The dog’s name was Bjarni, with bite marks all over his body, plus crooked teeth. Instead of helping him, his previous owners decided to get rid of him and throw him out like trash.
When the dog needed them more than ever, they gave him up. It was “too bad” for them. They had no plans to share their lives with a damaged “beast,” yet all he wanted was to be loved.
Ann Graber, founder of St. Francis Angels, a Texas-based animal rescue organization, decided to welcome the dog into her facility. She heard his story and couldn’t ignore it any longer.
Despite his health issues and troubled past, Bjarni was eager to participate. He didn’t stand out from the other dogs; he got along with everyone. They likely used him as bait to fight.
Bjarni had a difficult past, but despite this, he always had a kind heart. The dog immediately showed everyone that he was still capable of love and that he wanted to be with humans, despite the fact that some of them had hurt him.
