Maggie Is Now Just Making A Progress And Has Become A Therapy Dog!

After being shot 17 times, a pregnant dog survived, found her forever home and became a licensed therapy dog. Maggie, a 5-year-old dog, is truly a miracle dog considering the hardships she has previously overcome to survive.

Her story of courage and perseverance began in Lebanon. Maggie was found chained to a crate, with her ear cut off and her mouth broken. Maggie was tortured and then shot 17 times with a shotgun while pregnant, leaving her completely blind.

Someone in Lebanon noticed the grieving dog and posted a cry for help on social media. When a woman in London read the plea, she contacted the Wild At Heart Foundation for help. Maggie was saved. However, she had to undergo various surgeries and treatments before she could be put up for adoption and reunited with her final family in Brighton, England.

Casey Carlin, 25, is the owner of Maggie, an internet star with over 248,000 Instagram followers. Casey quit her job at a dog daycare facility to devote herself full-time to overseeing Maggie’s Instagram account.

“She’s taught me so many lessons for myself and others; we all know what she stands for since we learned her lessons,” she says. “But she reminds me of her every day. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Love conquers all. Be humble. Enjoy life to the fullest. Serve others. You create your own happiness. You can accomplish anything if you believe in it! She reminds me every day to strive to be better and to be more successful.”

Maggie has become a therapy dog, visiting hospitals, nursing homes, and colleges, where everyone can feel her peace and joy. Maggie has won the hearts of her owners and Casey’s other dog, Mishka, is at home.

“Every day I am shocked to see how many people share her story. No one cared about her for so long that when I decided to sponsor her, it was because no one else would! I am so glad she can share such a good message with the world,” Casey concludes.
