Sometimes dogs get stuck in some tricky places, and need a little help to get them free. Fortunately, local emergency responders are always there to help a dog in need.
This was the case recently, as the fire department rescued a stray dog trapped at the bottom of a tank.
According to 12 News, the Port Arthur Fire Department, in Port Arthur, Texas, responded to a call Tuesday about a dog stuck at the bottom of an empty concrete tank at the city's water treatment plant.
The dog was stuck 20 feet from below. It is not clear how he got there, but firefighters quickly worked to free him.
A crew member descended a ladder and carried the dog all the way, finally bringing him to safety.
Pictures show anxious firefighters all waiting for him upstairs.
The Port Arthur city government shared news of the rescue, describing it as a "wonderful moment".
As if the rescue wasn't sweet enough, there's additional good news: After being rescued by firefighters, the dog was adopted by an employee of the water treatment facility, according to 12 News.
We are so happy that this dog is safe, and has a loving new home! Thanks to everyone who saved him!
